
Luiza Mayer is a Brazilian artist based in the Washington, DC, area. She studied painting and drawing at the Corcoran College of Art, the Rockville Visarts Center, and the McLean Project for the Arts. Luiza works with watercolor, acrylic, encaustic, graphite and mixed media.
Luiza holds a master's degree in Organization Development from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, and specialized in human resources development at the University of California, Berkeley, and in law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. She is a public administration and civil society management specialist who has worked in Angola, Brazil, Bulgaria, Mozambique, and the United States. After working with art as a hobby for many years, Luiza took up art as her profession in 2007.
